Hey Yall!
I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. I am very thankful and full of gratitude to be able to work with you and your child! I have been in the school system since 2007. I really enjoy learning and teaching everyday. I look forward to having a wonderful year with you and your child.
We are not just teachers, we are counselors, nurses, friends, parents and nurturers. I believe that some children come to school to learn and others come to school to be loved before they will learn. I pride myself on the time that I take to develop a personal/nurturing relationship with each one of my students (past, present and future), they are reassured that they will always have a continuous impact on me as an Educator, not only do they learn from me, I learn from them. Which in-turn enhances their success to becoming a life-longer learner.
I have an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, after that I completed my Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Sociology. I attended Walden University and received my Masters of Elementary Education in 2015. I went back to school in the Spring 2016 and earned my CDL so I can drive a school bus! (just call me, Ms. Frizzle!) After that I earned a certificate as a Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B). I also am the Letterland Literacy Coach for our district, a KEA Representative for our liaison with NCDPI, and sat of the ELA review team for district implementation of NCSCOS/Common Core. I enjoy volunteering and helping our community, I have served as Board Member on JACE, Inc for the summer feeding program in our sector of northeast NC, corresponded. In the past I participated and coordinated the media production and website for our local Perquimans River Cats and High Voltage Blue baseball/softball travel teams, worked with Habitat for Humanity and I am an advocate against Domestic Violence and a active member of Team One Love. On a personal note, I am a Mother to TWO beautiful, intelligent children! Austin and Addisyn.
